Jennie Feyen is an emerging writer-director with a body of work that includes award-winning short films and video installations. Feyen’s practice blends elements of expressionism and surrealism,
and is informed by her deep interest in the natural world and the ethereal nature of dreams.
Having spent time living in Japan, Feyen has cultivated an admiration for traditional Japanese aesthetics, notably drawing inspiration from the profound concept of Yūgen (幽玄). Yūgen
is a Zen concept that roughly translates to “mysterious profundity.”
Feyen is currently undertaking a Master’s of Screenwriting at the Australian Film Television and
Radio School (AFTRS). Her Screenwest-funded short film TOUCH had its premiere at
CinefestOz Film Festival in August 2023.
